Do we have equality when it comes to professional music careers?
Lecture

Information

The professional music industry is still determined by the image of the creative male genius. Women dominate children’s music education – but when it comes to orchestras and conservatories women are still underrepresented. We also barely have programs for the advancement of women. The GEDOK, an association for female artists from all fields, advocates for the visibility and promotion of female artists. Dr. Adelheid Krause-Pichler, a member of GEDOK, will talk about structural inequalities in the music industry and the possibility to overcome the disadvantage of professional female musicians.

Dr. Adelheid Krause-Pichler is a flutist and composer, vice president of the Association of German Musicians and member of the association GEDOK.
