The Brandenburg Gate belongs to BerlinĀ“s best-known landmarks. It is the last existing one out of 18 city gates and is architecturally considered as the beginning of the era of Prussian classicism.
During the Cold War it was located exactly at the border between East and West Berlin. Thus it became a symbol of the liberal-democratic and reunified Germany after the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
