EWA Women’s Centre

EWA Frauenzentrum, Prenzlauer Allee 6, 10405 Berlin

EWA Frauenzentrum - Erster Weiblicher Aufbruch (First Female Awakening): EWA e.V. was born out of the legendary women’s assembly at the Berliner Volksbühne on 3 December 1989. This was the beginning of EWA, the women’s centre in the Prenzlauer Berg district.
“Female awakening is understood as a constantly changing objective of perception, review and extension of the female life-experience. The EWA Women’s Centre offers the opportunity and space for women to realise and articulate their wishes and needs, to reflect on their lives and gain competence to act”.
Since 1990 EWA e.V. Women’s Centre has been a popular socio-cultural venue run by women for women and a permanent establishment in the Berlin women’s and lesbian scene. EWA stands for professional women’s work in the fields of culture, technology, education and counselling. Here in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg female Berlin residents as well as visitors gather for events such as readings, concerts, cabaret, theater, exhibitions, series of talks and lectures. EWA is a communication and contact point open for women of all ages, backgrounds and sexual orientations.

Please understand that only women* are allowed to enter EWA-Frauenzentrum.
