In the 6th program of the 12 Moons, we show a selection of documentary films from Monika Treut’s extensive work. We will focus on her passion for strong and resistant characters and meet individualists who create their own versions of feminism, who pursue their sexual and physical self-determination with willpower and who are utterly committed to their values and beliefs.
The Schwules Museum* was founded in 1985 on the initiative of the three student museum guards Andreas Sternweiler, Wolfgang Theis und Manfred Baumgardt. With its highly regarded exhibitions, archival holdings and numerous contributions to research the Schwules Museum* has grown into one of the world’s largest and most significant institutions for archiving, researching and communicating the history and culture of the LGBTTIQ* community.
