Schwules Museum*

Lützowstraße 73, Berlin, Deutschland

The Schwules Museum* was founded in 1985 on the initiative of the three student museum guards Andreas Sternweiler, Wolfgang Theis und Manfred Baumgardt. With its highly regarded exhibitions, archival holdings and numerous contributions to research the Schwules Museum* has grown into one of the world’s largest and most significant institutions for archiving, researching and communicating the history and culture of the LGBTTIQ* community.
Changing exhibitions and events take diverse approaches to important subjects and concepts concerned with being lesbian, gay, bi, trans* and queer in history, art and culture.
